We want to connect the people who have the theological knowledge to the people who need it, to bring together people with different perspectives so they can understand each other better, and to empower everyone to share their theological knowledge.

The Bible does not say how old Jesus was when He died. Further, the Bible does not give the date of Jesus’ birth or the date His death. This makes determining Jesus’ precise age when He died impossible. As a background, please read our articles on “What year was Jesus Christ born?” and “In what year did Jesus die?”
By tracing the history recorded in the New Testament, especially the Gospel of Luke, and comparing it with Roman history, we conclude that Jesus was born between 6 and 4 BC. The same comparison leads us to believe that Jesus was likely crucified in AD 30, although it is also possible that Jesus was crucified in AD 33. Given those dates for Jesus’ birth and death, Jesus was in His 30s—somewhere between 33 and 39 years old—when He died.
The vast majority of Bible scholars and historians lean toward the lower end of the range. So, while it is impossible to be precise or dogmatic, the answer to the question “How old was Jesus when He died?” is “approximately 34 years old.”
